We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join the team on a fixed-term contract starting in September 2024.
Job Description: As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their specific needs are met.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and senior staff.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic education and care.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an SEN school setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN codes of practice and experience in developing IEPs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude, with a commitment to inclusive education.
