Salary: Upper Pay Scales with TLR Available.

About the Role:

A reputable Secondary School in Southend, Essex, is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business Studies to join their team in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic department, shaping the business curriculum and inspiring students to achieve their full potential in a supportive and innovative educational environment.

 

Responsibilities:

•Lead and manage the Business Studies & Economics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

•Develop and implement a curriculum that inspires students and meets the needs of all learners.

•Monitor student progress and use data to improve teaching strategies and student outcomes.

•Support and mentor teachers within the department to ensure high-quality instruction.

•Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.

•Participate in the recruitment and development of staff within the department.

•Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will:

 

•Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a relevant degree in Business or a related field.

•Have experience teaching Business Studies & Economics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a track record of improving student outcomes.

•Demonstrate strong leadership skills and previous experience in a management or head of department role is desirable.

•Be passionate about teaching and have a commitment to continuous professional development.

•Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
