We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Education Specialist/Humanities Teacher to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Religious Education and other Humanities subjects, to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to appreciate the global diversity of beliefs and cultures, fostering critical thinking and empathy. Your role will also involve contributing to the development of departmental curricula and participating in extracurricular activities that promote a broader understanding of the Humanities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Religious Education and Humanities subjects that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Develop and implement schemes of work, resources, and assessment strategies in line with curriculum requirements.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities curriculum and share best practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of educational trends and methodologies.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and community events that enrich the educational experience of students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Humanities, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Religious Education and/or Humanities subjects at the secondary school level.
- Strong understanding of diverse religious beliefs, cultural histories, and contemporary ethical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that respects and celebrates diversity.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
