Deputy Headteacher – Primary School – Basildon
Are you an inspirational leader looking for your next challenge? A well-respected primary school in Basildon is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join their leadership team from May/June 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader or ambitious senior teacher to play a key role in shaping the school’s future, driving high standards, and supporting both staff and students.
Role Overview:
• Position: Deputy Headteacher
• Location: Basildon, Essex
• Contract: Full-time
• Start Date: May/June 2025
• Key Stages: EYFS – KS2
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Headteacher in strategic leadership, school improvement, and daily operations.
• Lead and inspire staff, promoting a culture of high expectations and professional development.
• Monitor and enhance teaching & learning, ensuring high-quality education across EYFS – KS2.
• Drive pupil progress and attainment, using data to inform decisions and interventions.
• Oversee safeguarding and pastoral care, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
• Build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
• Champion the school’s vision and values, fostering a positive and ambitious school culture.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have significant primary teaching experience.
• Have leadership experience as a Deputy Head or Assistant Head.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of improving teaching and learning.
• Be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be passionate about inclusion, student well-being, and raising attainment.
• Have strong knowledge of safeguarding, curriculum development, and school leadership.
