Local Education is proud to be supporting a well-regarded and forward-thinking secondary school in East London in their search for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Social Sciences to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis starting in September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a range of engaging subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, and/or Health & Social Care to Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive Humanities and Social Sciences department committed to academic excellence and student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in one or more Social Sciences subjects

Plan, assess, and support students working towards GCSEs and A-Levels

Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment programmes

Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback and interventions

Promote critical thinking, independence, and a love for social studies

Take part in departmental and whole-school initiatives
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs are welcome

Specialism in Psychology, Sociology, or a related subject

Ability to teach at both KS4 and KS5

Passion for social sciences and strong subject knowledge

Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student development

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
