Local Education is proud to be working in partnership with a dedicated and inclusive special educational needs (SEN) school in East London, seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who is committed to supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. You’ll play a vital role in helping each child achieve their personal best in a nurturing and well-resourced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of SEN pupils

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff

  • Monitor and assess student progress, using EHCPs and IEPs effectively

  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil development

  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in training

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs

  • Excellent understanding of SEN strategies and differentiated teaching

  • Strong communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
