Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher
Location: Barking, London
Salary: Teachers' Pay Scale + SEN allowance, dependent on experience

We are currently partnering with a highly regarded SEN school that is seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team. Role Overview:
As an SEN Teacher, you will work with children and young people who require additional support to achieve their educational goals. This includes students with physical disabilities, sensory impairments, speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions like autism, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students, fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students, setting achievable targets and monitoring progress.
  • Plan and teach inspirational, specialist, and highly differentiated lessons to KS3 SEND classes.
  • Assess students' abilities and learning requirements, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide regular feedback to stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teacher or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of current special education topics and methodologies.
  • Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Ability to create and implement IEPs effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
