Local Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Maldon, Essex, to recruit a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher for a full-time, permanent role, starting in September 2025.
Whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT, this is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students, contribute to curriculum development, and be part of a dedicated English department that promotes both academic excellence and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking among students

Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature exams

Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback and interventions

Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental initiatives and enrichment activities

Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports every learner
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs encouraged to apply

Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A commitment to fostering student development and academic success

A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
