Local Education is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Maldon, Essex, to recruit a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher for a full-time, permanent role, starting in September 2025.

Whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT, this is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students, contribute to curriculum development, and be part of a dedicated English department that promotes both academic excellence and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking among students

  • Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature exams

  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback and interventions

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental initiatives and enrichment activities

  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports every learner

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs encouraged to apply

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A commitment to fostering student development and academic success

  • A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
