Local Education is delighted to be working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in East London, currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engaging and passionate Geography educator to join a collaborative Humanities faculty and deliver stimulating lessons that help students explore and understand the physical and human world around them. The role involves teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of KS5 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic and well-structured lessons in Geography across KS3–KS4 

  • Encourage student curiosity, analysis, and global awareness

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning

  • Support school initiatives and extracurricular activities related to Geography and the wider Humanities programme

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs are encouraged to apply

  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography and a passion for the discipline

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and differentiated learning

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
