Local Education is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in South London, who are seeking a committed and nurturing Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September 2025 on a temp-to-perm basis.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs, including those with SEND, emotional/behavioural challenges, or requiring one-to-one support in class. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that puts student wellbeing and progress at the heart of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class and small group support for students with varying needs

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons

  • Work closely with the SENCo to implement support strategies and track progress

  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers

  • Support the wider school environment and contribute to whole-school activities

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting (essential)

  • Understanding of SEN and inclusive education approaches

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Resilient, compassionate, and adaptable mindset

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
