Local Education is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in South London, who are seeking a committed and nurturing Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from September 2025 on a temp-to-perm basis.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs, including those with SEND, emotional/behavioural challenges, or requiring one-to-one support in class. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that puts student wellbeing and progress at the heart of everything they do.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class and small group support for students with varying needs

Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons

Work closely with the SENCo to implement support strategies and track progress

Help students develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour

Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers

Support the wider school environment and contribute to whole-school activities
Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting (essential)

Understanding of SEN and inclusive education approaches

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Resilient, compassionate, and adaptable mindset

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
